Easy Breathing Meditation for Enhancing Energy and Clarity
Introduction
In the rush of daily life, it is good to be able to reset with a breathing meditation that will help us to see things more clearly and restore energy. It only takes a couple of minutes and is good for any time of the day when we need to restore balance.
As an energy healer, I have seen how intentional breath can increase overall life force, clearing the energy channels of the body and increasing our overall energy potential. When the breath is calm and balanced, the energetic body responds with increased energy and vitality.
Preparation
- Find a comfortable, quiet place where you will be undisturbed.
- Sit comfortably with your spine straight, in a chair or cross-legged on a cushion.
- If you would like, place one hand on your lower stomach and another on your heart to help you feel the breath. This is optional.
- Close your eyes and feel your body.
Hold the intention
I breathe in clarity and vital energy. I let go of what no longer serves me.
The practice: Easy breathing meditation
Step 1: Relaxing grounding breath
- Inhale slowly through the nose for a count of 10, pulling the breath down into the bottoms of your feet.
- Exhale gently through the nose for a count of 10.
- Repeat 10 times, feeling yourself settling completely into your body.
This may be performed by itself or, when you are ready, you may add Step 2.
Step 2: Energising breath — 10 minutes
Now we will lengthen the breath count.
- Inhale through the nose for a count of 8, visualising fresh white light entering the body down to your feet, allowing the chest to expand.
- Hold for a count of 21. This can be modified to 10 or 15 seconds.
- Exhale slowly and steadily for a count of 11, allowing the breath to balance, clearing tension, mental fog and stagnant energy. This can also be modified.
- Hold the breath out for a count of 4. You can work up to 8 seconds.
Balance the speed of the inhale with what is required for the rest of the breath cycle.
Exhale steadily, visualising the outgoing breath carrying away heaviness and cloudiness. With each inhale, picture the whole body energised with white light circulating in your body.
Continue for 10 to 15 rounds.
Step 3: Clarity integration
- Breathe naturally.
- Notice any feelings you have in your body and the rise and fall of the breath.
- If thoughts arise, return to the breath: inhale and exhale.
- Place your hands on your heart and thank yourself.
Tips for best results
- Practise daily, even just for 5 minutes.
- Morning practice prepares you for your day. Evening practice clears any accumulated stress from the day.
- Use the breath count that feels best for you.
- You can also incorporate your favourite crystal into the meditation by placing it next to you, or play soft ambient music.
- Track your progress in a journal, noting how you feel overall and after the meditation.
How the breath supports energy healing
- Clears energetic blockages.
- Reduces stress.
- Helps you be more present in the body.
- Increases overall life force.
- Deepens the benefits of other spiritual practices.
